I get that it’s also buffable, especially notable with bloodflame blade, but even then, that requires an entirely separate spell with its own fp usage, needs a catalyst, etc. Even being a pretty light mace based on the weight and strength req, I still think it’s pretty dissatisfying that it deals less damage than a basic dagger for only a little more bleed than status quo for bleed weapons, especially when you can trade damage for bleed with a simple bleed infusion, and still do more, and this is compounded by the fact you can get the ash of war for the same weapon art as this in the same area, without having to do any quest. I see people saying it does such low damage because it’s just a bouquet of flowers, but the item description pretty clearly specifies it as being a metal replica as such. Also much more fashionable than stabbing yourself in the stomach (also the buff animation is shorter and you can move while buffing). To summarize, this doesn't make the weapon good, but it's the best, most optimal setup you can possibly give it. Tested this on a troll and it roughly has the same performance as a seppuku blood claymore in the main hand, with only 35 arcane.

Now, if for whatever reason you want to do this combo before you reach the Mountaintops, or if you don't want to take any damage while doing the combo, or you think, as I do, that holding a flaming bouquet of roses while hipfiring a crossbow looks cool as hell, then you can use varre's bouquet with bloodflame blade, because the base bleed buildup on it is higher than any other buffable weapon (I think).

So you know how crossbow bolts inherit status effects from your main hand weapon? The optimal setup is Fire's Deadly Sin with a seppuku weapon (the heavier - the better, because you get higher bleed buildup from a bleed infusion), and burred bolts with the pulley crossbow.

This weapon reflects White Mask Varré's manner of speech rather well, enticing in its splendor, but full of deadly consequence. Each petal has a sharpened edge, leaving the roses perpetually colored with blood. A steel mace resembling a charming bouquet of roses.
